#25: Attend a book reading.

My sister and I saw Lev Grossman and Scott Westerfeld and John Scalzi and Catherynne Valente read at the New York library (the big one, with the lions) as part of NY Book Week.

Lev Grossman reads like a storyteller, Scott Westerfeld had illustrations, Cat Valente is CAT EFFING VALENTE, and John Scalzi, instead of reading from his fiction (which I don't care for), told a long and elaborately hilarious story about an April Fools Day prank he had pulled on his blog.

A merry band of musicians played along, their music matching the feel of the story being told.  The next book reading I attend will have to be all kinds of crazy to even half match up.
